It was history in the making. The dream that most of the Opposition can only dream of. Denying the government 2/3 majority. And it happened. 5 states fell to the hands of the Opposition and the Prime Minister’s face has begin to change. All the mud slinging and tricks did’nt seem to work too well.Here are some fun facts to digest (credit to MalaysiaKini)

I think this must be his darkest hour, leading a landslide victory 4 years ago and now…being the “suspicious” minority in Penang left when all seats have been taken over by opposition. Imagine, its like being a toothless tiger stuck in a cage full of meat. Ok, bad analogy.

Anyway, I really hope things will work out for the best here in Malaysia, as much as I don’t really like being here. I hope the Opposition can bring about some change in our respective states. Then again, expect the Government to play dirty. I bet the next few years will feature more “crime” stories from the states won by Opposition. Its already happening today. Media freedom isn’t exactly free.

I would suggest to the Opposition to open a web portal for people to send our grouses and suggestions. I don’t quite trust Warkah Untuk PM (Letters to the Prime Minister). It just seemed too last minute. Why didn’t he think about it 4 years ago? Instead all his Cabinet did was sling cheap shots at bloggers. There is even a contest whereby the best suggestion will “stand a chance” to meet the PM. The opposition or Barisan Rakyat should have something simmilar, that way we know things are being looked into rather than…well…refer to picture below. As they say, a picture says a thousand words. It should be transparent and suggestions must be available for public viewing and not just used as a propaganda material.
